Draw My Basement was founded by Lekesh Verma, a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and BCIN-HVAC House Designer specializing in legal basement design, structural engineering, and residential HVAC design. With over 12 years of experience since 2014, he has worked extensively on legal basement projects, load-bearing wall removal, beam installations, window enlargements, below-grade entrances, additions, and any other structural and HVAC modifications that may become part of the scope of a project. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University, specializing in structural engineering.
Jasmine Bakshi, BCIN-Small Buildings
Jasmine Bakshi is a registered BCIN (Small Buildings) designer specializing in architectural planning and permit-ready residential drawings. She graduated from Sheridan College and completed formal CAD design training at Humber College. She has worked on numerous basement design and permit projects, developing strong expertise in space planning, Ontario Building Code requirements, and preparing clear, construction-ready drawings. She plays a key role in coordinating submissions, managing project timelines, and ensuring smooth communication between homeowners and municipalities. With a strong attention to detail and practical understanding of basement layouts, she contributes significantly to delivering compliant and well-organized projects.
Senior Civil Engineering & Field Operations Consultant
Darshan Lal Verma brings over 35 years of civil engineering experience across Canada and overseas. He has worked extensively within municipal environments, gaining strong knowledge of infrastructure systems, regulatory processes, and construction standards. His expertise includes as-built surveying, laser scanning, and LiDAR data collection, providing accurate and reliable field measurements. In addition, he has hands-on experience as a construction contractor, building residential basements and structural systems directly on site.
